Why people in Lowell choose private

A busy city, a quiet hour for you

Lowell moves fast. Plenty of people here work long shifts at the hospitals, commute down Route 3 or out on I-495, study or teach at UMass Lowell, or run a family schedule that leaves little room for a fixed class time. A crowded group class can feel like one more thing to keep up with.

A private session works the other way around. The hour is booked for you, the instructor is watching only you, and every exercise is picked for what your body needs that day. If your lower back is tight from sitting, if you are getting back to movement after a long break, or if you simply want to feel stronger and more mobile, the session adapts.

Because the studio is small, there is no front desk rush and no waiting for equipment. You arrive, talk for a moment about how you are feeling, and start.

The Reformer builds strength with spring resistance. The Cadillac (trapeze table) gives support for stretching and for learning to move with control. The Ladder Barrel opens the spine and hips. In a private session you can use all three in the same hour, in the order that makes sense for you.

Close to home

Pilates for every Lowell neighborhood

Downtown is the middle of the city, which makes Hurd Street an easy trip from almost anywhere in Lowell.

  • Downtown

The studio sits right here, so a session fits before work, on a lunch break or after a day at the office.

  • Belvidere

A short drive across the Concord River, easy for a regular weekly or twice weekly practice.

  • Highlands

Close enough that an evening session still leaves time for dinner at home.

  • Centralville

Just over the Merrimack, a quick trip into downtown for a private or duet session.

  • Pawtucketville

Near UMass Lowell North Campus, popular with students, faculty and staff who want focused work.

  • Back Central and South Lowell

A few minutes from Hurd Street, so it is simple to keep a consistent schedule.

Many clients also drive in from Dracut and Tewksbury, where the commute into downtown Lowell is short. If you live closer to Westford, Billerica or Tyngsborough, our second space may suit you better: see Pilates in Chelmsford.

Your first visit

What a session in Lowell looks like

Before you come. Send the form or a WhatsApp message with your goals and anything we should know: back or neck pain, a past injury, a recent surgery, pregnancy, or simply that you have never tried Pilates. We reply personally to set up a time.

At the studio. Wear comfortable clothes that stay in place when you bend and roll. We start by talking, then look at how you breathe, stand and move. From there your instructor picks the first exercises and shows you how each apparatus works.

After the first session. You leave knowing what we worked on and why. Each visit builds on the last, so spring settings, exercises and progressions change as you get stronger. Some clients come once a week, others twice. We help you find a rhythm that fits your week.

A group option too. Between private sessions, many clients add small mat Pilates classes, with up to 5 people and the same attention to form.

Where is your Pilates studio in Lowell?

Our Lowell studio is at 13 Hurd Street, Lowell, MA 01852, in downtown Lowell. Sessions are by appointment, and we send the details you need for your visit when you book. Ask us about parking when you book.

Is private Pilates in Lowell good for beginners?

Yes. Private sessions are the easiest way to start because the whole session is planned for you. We begin with a conversation about your routine, any pain or past injuries, and what you want to feel in your body, then introduce the apparatus at a pace that feels right.

Do you offer Reformer Pilates in Lowell?

Yes. The Lowell studio has a Reformer, a Cadillac (trapeze table) and a Ladder Barrel. Your instructor chooses which apparatus to use in each session based on your goals and how your body is moving that day.

Can two people book a session together?

Yes. A duet session is two people with one instructor. It works well for couples, friends, a parent and adult child, or coworkers who want to train together while still getting close attention.

I live in Dracut or Tewksbury. Is the Lowell studio the right one for me?

Usually, yes. Downtown Lowell is a short drive from both towns. If you live closer to Westford, Billerica or Tyngsborough, our Chelmsford studio inside CrossFit Liberator may be more convenient. Tell us where you are coming from and we will suggest the easier option.

Do you have group Pilates classes in Lowell?

Yes. Our new mat Pilates classes at the Lowell studio have up to 5 people and last 50 minutes, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 AM and 6:30 PM. A drop-in class is $30.

How much does a private Pilates session in Lowell cost?

A trial class is $30 and a single 60-minute session is $50, with at most 2 clients per instructor. Monthly plans for 1, 2 or 3 sessions a week are available; ask us for current rates. We accept credit card, Zelle and check.
